When Stephan reached out to me about proposing to his high school sweet heart, I could not have been more excited!! They were visiting their families for Memorial Weekend, so it was going to be the perfect time to propose and celebrate with family and friends!
We planned on the proposal happening at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda on Saturday May 29th. On Friday May 28th, I went to Laishley Park to scope out the spot and solidify the plan for Stephan to propose to Emily. Much to my surprise there was a beautiful display of hundreds of flags. Laishley park was having a full-on Memorial Day celebration all weekend long. This meant crowds of people! We decided to switch the location that night to Gilchrist Park, another beautiful park along the Charlotte Harbor!
It worked out even better than anticipated. They would have dinner at the near by Carmelo’s Italian Restaurant and then walk along the water in Gilchrist Park, where I would be waiting for them to reach the location Stephen and I agreed upon. Stephan only gave me a small heart-attack when I see him tying his shoes at a different spot in Gilchrist Park.
In the end, they made it to the location and it Emily was surprised and so excited for this next step in their relationship. Once the proposal was captured, we went right into an engagement session they were able to use to announce their engagement.
